Masonite Beams Selected for Luxury Eco Homes

Masonite engineered timber I-Joists, used as part of the TRADISĀ® closed panel wall and roof system, have been selected for an exclusive development of four luxury low energy homes near Penrith.

At the development, levels of insulation twice that required by the Building Regulations have been achieved. The developer, Eden Frame, has added the benefit of an array of photo-voltaic cells to each dwelling, which can create up to 50% of the electricity requirements of each household. The site has been orientated to optimise the sun's energy. Solar panels have also been incorporated on the rear of the garage roofs to provide over 50% of any hot water requirements. The houses provide a warm and ambient low energy home that requires minimal heating with exceptionally low energy requirements. Re-cycled and re-cyclable materials have been utilised where possible, including new products from sustainable sources. Materials with low-embodied energy have been used in preference to standard building materials.
