TRADIS® System Reaps Rewards of Masonite Partnership With Excel Industries
The relaunch of Masonite Beams in the UK is putting the TRADIS® closed panel wall and roof system in the spotlight. TRADIS® was jointly developed over ten years ago by Excel Industries Ltd and Masonite, and consists of pre-insulated structural panels designed to provide thermal performance to the highest standard. Now, with Masonite's official UK relaunch last year, TRADIS® is enjoying a new focus for architects and contractors around the UK as Masonite develops its distribution network and makes design and engineering easier with a new in-house team.
This timber frame wall and warm roof system comprises Masonite engineered timber I-Joists and Beams; Panelvent® sheathing boards; Warmcel® 500 insulation; Paneline® internal sheathing board and a vapour control layer specified to provide the minimum vapour resistance difference between the warm and cold side of the panel. Working in partnership, Masonite Beams and Excel Industries are raising the profile of TRADIS® through joint marketing initiatives and exhibition work such as that of Ecobuild.
TRADIS® is being used for a broad variety of applications including private housing, schools and colleges and government buildings throughout the UK. Commenting on the system, Nigel Bosanko, sales and marketing manager of Excel Industries, said:
“Embodying the principles of off-site manufacture, minimal waste, sustainability, high performance and rapid on site construction, TRADIS® also delivers the inherent benefits of ultra high insulation performance, and is the winner of five major industry awards. The fresh impetus that Masonite Beams' relaunch is bringing to back up the work we are already doing with TRADIS® is very positive. We are seeing a growth in awareness of the system, and look forward to increased usage of it as construction begins a new growth phase.”
Speaking for Masonite Beams Neil Lewis, who heads up the new UK team, said:
“TRADIS® is extremely important in the development of the Masonite Beams business in the UK. Our intention is for 50% of our volumes to come from system sales, which will include TRADIS® as a key vehicle for this.”
